As far back as I can remember running has been a form of expression for me and a way to be present, to get physically strong, to challenge myself and to grow spiritually through mindfulness practices.


I was born in Nairobi, Kenya and immigrated to the States at the age of 7. My roots go back to Ethiopia and Turkey where my parents and ancestors are from. My love for athletics comes from a childhood of days full of adventure and playing soccer barefoot with my friends in Nairobi.

As a coach my aim is to help facilitate your running journey; your life’s journey. Running has added so much depth and purpose to my life and I’m here to use my experience and insights I have gained to help you achieve your running goals. Using science based practices and my own experience, I can help you finish races, reach a PR, prepare for your next big hike or train you for your next trail adventure.

As a student of this sport I am constantly learning and improving my methods. I take what I learn, implement it on the trails and roads, gain insight and repeat. I believe in the process of incremental gains that produces results. And I’m equally inspired by the connections we weave between trail running and the metaphysical realms.

I will train you and share insights with you on running, trail, gear, nutrition, race prep, mindset and much more. I'll be here to passionately support you in your journey to reach your goals and maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. METHODOLOGY

My training approach combines science-backed methods with intuitive practices to build both your mind and body. By focusing on key principles like the Creative Gap and Stages of Motor Learning, I help you develop a strong foundation. From there, we’ll gradually improve your strength, flexibility, and confidence through a mix of endurance, strength training, mobility exercises, and mindfulness.

I will help narrow your “creative gap”. Most people start with a cognitive approach to running and if they are consistent they move to the associative stage where the action of running becomes a learned habit and the results are visible. But a large number of runners get stuck at this associative stage and miss out on moving into the autonomous stage where running becomes more than a habit. In the autonomous stage, running becomes a thing you do with little conscious effort, allowing room for creativity and flow.

PROCESS

Narrowing the gab is a gradual process I find joy in helping you achieve. In the beginning I learn about you: your running history, your current fitness, and your goals. Then I’ll create a personalized training plan. I trust that with dedication, hard work, and consistency in your training, you'll see you desired results and reach your goals.

Regardless of where you are in your running journey, I’ll help you progress to the next stage and work towards achieving the autonomous stage, where running becomes effortless and fluid. This includes navigating and overcoming the creative gap, which is often the point where many runners get stuck. Together, we’ll push through the challenges, build your confidence, and develop the consistency needed to make running feel natural and enjoyable.

  • Strength Training prepares you to tackle the trails with power and confidence. You will have a custom Strength Training Plan to help you reach your goals.

  • This is one of the most important aspects of training. Focusing on Mobility and Flexibility will get you stronger and help you move with confidence. You will have specific workouts to help you on your path.

  • Connect with me through texting and e-mails. We can set up phone calls when you need additional support in your training.
